The Obfuscation of Truth

The last 100 to 120 years have been a boon for information peddlers.  New media is always on the horizon, starting with newspapers, then journals and magazines, radio, television, and now the internet.  These outlets have dominated the way we obtain information for ourselves.

But with the abundance of information also comes the redaction of information.  Those who think they know what others should see and hear, and whose hands are on the pulley ropes of big media, begin to make these decisions for others.  They don't ask, they just do it, without thinking about the ramifications of doing so.  Or they do it knowing full well the ramifications of stifling information.

One of my recent light bulb moments was hearing Judge Joe Brown talk about the MLK Jr. assassination.  I had never heard another side to the story.  I had only known what was taught to us out of our history textbooks.

Sexual Abuse of American Athletes

    Another sexual abuse scandal has arisen among American Olympic athletes and their coaches.  USA Swimming has reportedly covered up hundreds of abuse cases over the past 10 years, according to an investigative report released by The Orange County Register.

    The numbers are staggering.  In the last 20 years since the main person in charge of regulating the abuse was in place, "252 swim coaches and officials have been arrested, charged by prosecutors, or disciplined by USAS for sexual abuse..."  And recently starting in 2010, the organization has kept a watch-list of people within the coaching community who have been charged by policy for sexual abuse, including rape and child pornography.
    The amazing piece of this story is how the MSM has failed to report on it.  The OC Register published this article on February 16, 2018.  This is certainly a bigger story than the US gymnastics team doctor and his alleged abuse.  Why is there no front page news?  Why are there no town hall meetings regarding the sexual abuse of minors?  And why are there so many dirt bag baby-touchers allowed around our kids?

Worldwide Pedophilia Dragnet Tightens

    The latest and most prominent pedophile to be charged is the number three most powerful man in the Catholic Church.  Australia's Cardinal Pell has been charged with sexual assault and is due to appear in March in Melbourne, AU to determine whether he will stand trial.  The actual charges are hard to track down, but "multiple sexual offenses" are listed as part of the allegations.
    Pell is a close aid to Pope Francis, which further brings into question the immediate circle of advisers close to him.  Around the same time last year another story of sexual misconduct arose at the Vatican. A prominent Cardinal's aide was arrested by Vatican police who discovered a gay orgy in progress inside the home of the secretary to Cardinal Coccopalmerio, who is a top aide to Pope Francis.  The policy found multiple men in a "drug-fueled orgy" inside the residence.

    Cardinal Pell and the unnamed secretary to the Pope's aide are both in the inner circle of the Catholic hierarchy. Are these two situations related?  Perhaps not directly, but with sexual misconduct appearing to be rampant within the Vatican one has to wonder.
    The wind has changed for these types of sexual predators.  Those who still hide in the shadows and prey upon children will be revealed soon.  This is the time of unveiling, of revelation.  I expect to see many more of these types of arrests in the coming year.
